As part of GPSChemOil's commitment to sustainability and employee well-being, CEO Khameis AlKhaddeim led by example by participating in the NBF Fujairah Run alongside employees. This event was organized by the National Bank of Fujairah under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah on 23rd November 2024. His involvement underscored the company’s dedication to fostering a culture of physical fitness, well-being, and team spirit, reinforcing its holistic approach to corporate sustainability and employee engagement.
DIGITAL PERMIT TO WORK SYSTEM
GPS ChemOil has introduced a digitalised Permit To Work (“PTW”) system. After initial development, the system was rolled out as trial for 3 months for internal permit usage. The full-grown permit system is now operational for external agencies as well. While the initiative will reduce the paper consumptions, online PTW will help GPS ChemOil to create a data bank as well for future usage in decision making. The entire system has been developed internally.
The implementation of an online Permit to Work system transforms the traditional permit approval process, enabling seamless electronic authorisation and monitoring of work activities.
Enhancing Emergency Preparedness: GPSChemOil Invests in EV Emergency Ambulance and ERT Training
Following the evaluation of emergency drill outcomes, GPSChemOil has taken a proactive step by procuring an EV emergency ambulance on 21st October 2024, to facilitate the swift transfer of casualties from the site to the first aid station and subsequently to government medical units. To strengthen emergency response capabilities, an awareness training session was conducted for GPSChemOil’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) members, focusing on preparedness, safety protocols, and first aid techniques. Additionally, competency training was provided to staff on first aid and the operation of the EV ambulance. This initiative reaffirms GPSChemOil’s commitment to safety excellence, ensuring that its workforce is well-equipped to manage emergencies efficiently and effectively.
GPS ChemOil Introduced advanced EV Forklift to Enhance Efficiency and Sustainability
GPSChemOil has procured an advanced Electric Vehicle (EV) Forklift to optimize material handling within its workshop and terminal in August 2024. This strategic acquisition enhances efficiency in stacking spare parts and transporting materials, ensuring a seamless and eco-friendly workflow. By integrating sustainable solutions, GPSChemOil reaffirms its commitment to operational excellence and environmental responsibility. To ensure safe and proficient operation, GPSChemOil has also provided comprehensive competency training to its staff, reinforcing its commitment to operational excellence and workplace safety.
ELECTRIC SCOOTERS
At GPS ChemOil in the UAE, the plant operators now have a number of electric scooters for moving about on the terminal as an alternative to using motor vehicles.
